I dunno about this Ek, everytime he's asked about Torts he has high praise & gillis just said 2-3 days ago that he would like to add a top player to play with Kes. So either someone's bs'n you, you're bs'n us, Gillis is bs'n about deadline wishes or Kes is a pure out ass-kiss to the coach or possibly all of the above.

"It is really no big secret that Kesler and Torts don't see eye to eye and that he has long said he would welcome a deal to certain select cities."

Then why have you never reported it??

"I will add this. It is my experience at least the Canucks fans are completely head over heals for Ryan Kesler. I remember at the Vancouver games, despite him playing for USA, fans telling me they were torn about cheering against a Ryan Kesler team in the gold medal game."

Good call, Ek. I'm actually still pretty upset about it. Just when I think I'm getting over the sting of 2010 and Canada beating Kesler and the USA, we have to play them again in 2014. It was very sad for Canadian Canucks fans to see Canada beat Kesler and the USA.

Louis Jean among others is reporting this. Saying he asked for a trade a while ago.

Eklund says it's been common knowledge for a long time now that Kesler wants out. So common that Eklund forgot to write about it.

There's so much wrong in this blog.

"* The Canucks want no part of trading Ryan Kesler but also realize that his value is high after his courageous performance."

He plays that way every game.....

Canuck fans would welcome a trade. Kesler is a Richard. We all remember his comments during the Vancouver Olympics and I for one am very surprised this didn't happen earlier. They should trade him and get younger.

Some of the stuff Ek comes up with is simply astounding. Chalk this one up to that category. I'm still reeling after Canada beat Kesler and team USA. I was really hoping the US would win cause, you know, Kesler plays for them.

Kesler for Kadri, Gardiner and Reimer. Pretty sure he could get Leafs into playoffs all by himself.

Firstly, i'm a Canucks fan, and have been a Canucks fan my whole life, and have played hockey my whole life. I'm not one of these bandwagon fans that jumped on during the 2011 cup run and have been complaining about everything ever since.

Having said that. I truly believe that Kesler is perceived to be a much better player around the league than he actually is. This is a guy that had one stellar season when it came to scoring goals (and the bulk of them were on the power play with plenty of help from the Sedins), doesn't have very good passing ability, and offensively doesn't have the ability to use his line mates, he tries to do everything on his own. He is also known to have suffered injuries multiple times over the past few years, most notably during the playoffs. Having said that, he is very sound defensively, and battles as hard as i've ever seen a hockey player battle.

Plain and simple, the point i'm trying to make is, Ryan Kesler would bring more value in the trade market than he does playing for this team. Plus with the fact the Canucks (if they do make the playoffs, which I doubt they will) are likely to match up against either Chicago, Anaheim, or St Louis then will be primed for another first round loss.

Go Canucks Go.

I'm not sure canuck fans are "head over heels" in love with kesler. The average canuck fan (not necessarily a hockey fan) loves kesler. But canuck fans who know hockey know that kesler has flaws. His trade value has been discussed at length on canuck blogs.

He's a valuable player to our organization but for the right deal he should be traded. The next one to go should be Edler, and then Burrows.

Damn I'd love to have Kelser. Theres no way I see them trading him unless it's for something out of this world.
